Avril Jude Okeke
Avril Jude Okeke is an accomplished and performance-focused professional with solid history of success in risk management, compliance, auditing, system integration, and financial reporting for executive, audit committee, and external auditor audiences. She has a proven track record of executing technical and financial projects from conception to completion in dynamic and deadline-driven environments. Her proficiency includes combining analytical rigor with practical financial expertise. Avril has decades of experience in elevating organizations and managing multimillion-dollar budgets with a focus on transparency and achieving organizational goals and objectives.
Avril is the current Director of Operations and Compliance at Avilo Care Services LLC, a New Jersey Health Care Service Firm. Her life’s work includes comprehensive accounting and financial services experience in corporate accounting, benefits accounting, external and internal auditing, risk assessment, and risk mitigation initiatives. Within those functions, she performs financial statement analyses, prepares tax returns for individuals, partnerships, non-profits, and corporations, and prepares and presents various key financial reports for internal and external stakeholders, including Boards of Directors. Her many experiences led her to work with companies such as Ernst and Young, LLP, PwC, Columbia University and State Street Corporation.
Avril is passionate about empowering others and thus serves as an advisor and mentor to non-profit organizations, professionals, and accounting and business students. In addition to Women Leaders in Action, she sits on two non-profit boards. Previously, Avril’s service included an Academic board member of the Massachusetts Society of Certified Public Accountants, a President and Advisory board member of the National Association of Black Accountants, Boston Metro Chapter, and an Advisory board member of Operations Able.
Avril holds a BSBA in Accounting from Northeastern University, Boston, Massachusetts. After residing in Massachusetts for over twenty years, Avril and her family have relocated to New Jersey and now live in Martinsville.
